In Health, to finish of the year Miss Hobson has been testing out the kids creativity and teamwork skills. The year 1’s and 2’s were presented with Christmas themed challenges to overcome:
- A PEN FOR THE REINDEERS. The reindeers have escaped from their pen! The elves need to repair the broken fence. Can you design and build a pen to hold 4 reindeer whilst the elves are busy repairing?
- PAPER CHAIN CHALLENGE. Create a paper chain using only 1 piece of paper. Is it longer than your class mates? How could you make one longer?
- A LADDER FOR SANTA. Santa has landed on the ground instead of the roof! He needs to climb to the top of the house to reach the chimney. Can you design and build a ladder for Santa to reach the roof?
- A PARACHUTE FOR SANTA. Santa can’t land his sleigh. He needs to use a parachute to reach the houses below. Can you design and build a parachute for Santa?
- A SLEIGH FOR SANTA. Santa’s sleigh is broken! Can you help design and build a new sleigh for Santa? It has to be able to hold 10 ‘pom pom’ presents
- A CUP CHRISTMAS TREE. It’s the night before Christmas and we can’t find the tree!! There are lots of leftover cups from Christmas eve dinner. Create the tallest tree you possibly can using these cups. How many pom pom decorations can you balance on your tree once it’s done?
All students did an amazing job working together to create their masterpieces.
