The IMSS Primary Band Workshop was held on Thursday 24th October at Halls Head Community College. The all-day event involved 80 students from 7 different schools – Ocean Rd PS, Falcon PS, Sth Halls Head PS, Halls Head PS, Glencoe PS, Riverside PS and Secret Harbour PS.
The students participated in many musical activities, ranging from playing by ear accompanied by our fabulous IMSS teachers on electric guitars, through to reading music and holding pieces together whilst different parts were playing around them.
The IMSS students have been playing their instruments for approximately 9 – 18months and did a great job playing in an ensemble, many for the first time.
The students gave their parents, caregivers and friends a concert at the end of the day to show how much they had accomplished in one day. It was an amazing experience for all involved and we hope that these students are inspired to continue their musical learning journeys.
