K-PP Classroom Buzz

Our Kindy and Pre-Primary students have been kept very busy, exploring a whole range of topics throughout the term; fires, the importance of sunscreen, exploring 3D shapes and keeping cool during playtime!

Health

In health students have been learning all about community and personal safety. They learnt all about what to do in case of a fire and even got to use spray bottles and put out the pretend fire.

Students also learnt about how to keep ourselves safe in the sun and were reminded we need to put sunscreen ALL over our skin that is not covered by our clothes. Students even practised putting sunscreen on their models ensuring they got all the right spots including their ears.

Handa’s Surprise

The Kindy and Pre-Primary children arrived at their classes last week to find a basket of fruit all tumbled out all over the floor.  They chopped up all the delicious fruit and tasted it. A soft yellow banana, round juicy oranges and lots of tangerines.

Students were introduced to their new Talk for Writing Story, Handa’s Surprise. The students will be bringing home a copy of the story and their class story map this week, so you can all practise remembering the words and actions together.

Maths – 3 D Shapes

In Maths the Pre-Primary children have been learning all about 3D shapes. They then used their knowledge to construct their very own 3D shapes.

Playtime

With the warmer weather students have been staying cool and having fun in the nature playground during playtime.
