This term has been filled with sporting events with plenty of students getting involved both in and out of school. On the first day of term we sent our Year 3-6 out to swimming lessons at Avalon Beach. It was hot weather and with minimal wind was a great time to cool off in the refreshing water.

In Physical Education classes, Year 5-6 classes were learning League Tag in preparation for the carnival whilst the younger year groups have been consolidating their skills in throwing, catching and striking.

Every morning from 8:15am faction captains have been busy running morning fitness and activities for the whole school. It has been awesome to see so many students getting involved.

In Week 6 we sent two teams to the League Tag Carnival and two teams to the Flippa Ball Carnival, which is a game similar to Water Polo. The league tag teams placed 5th (boys) and 2nd (girls) after tough crossover finals. In Flippa Ball, the two teams had an absolute blast in the water and participants said it was the best carnival they had been to. Without scoring the carnival was based on learning the game and having fun.

To finish the term classes have been learning a variety of sports including badminton, golf and tennis. Year 5/6 students have been busy trying out for Winter Sport Events that will be taking place in Term 2.
